Sims 3 Review
I mentioned part of the reason I haven’t blogged much recently was because I was playing Sims 3. And I gave people a hard time for their reviews of the game so I might as well try to review it as best I can. 4.5/5 Stars: An excellent improvement of an already great game There is very little to complain about when it comes to the Sims 3, but we can start with the negatives: High...

Inspiration
I haven’t written in 19 days…wow…time to fix that…I’ve been having a hard time finding a reason to write for quite a few reasons: Finals and end of school Writers block I was lazy The Sims 3 So I’m going to talk about what inspired me to come back…aside from my 0 tumblarity. It was actually Nick News which was on a few hours ago, and it talked about...

Reviews
So I already deeply expressed my opinion on critics, but I want to talk about reviewers on amazon etc. who rate products. I am awaiting my copy of The Sims 3 in the mail and have been reading reviews out of desperate excitement to try this game. The first places I checked were well known gaming sites. I was very excited to see that Sims 3 got generally above average reviews. After I ran out of...

Schadenfreude
I promise I will stop naming posts after Avenue Q songs…but FOR NOW…realistic situation: Someone falls on the sidewalk, you’re about 10 ft away…what do you do? Schadenfreude itself isn’t laughing and pointing then walking away. That’s being an ass, and some people fit in that category (like me) but that’s not deriving enjoyment from other people,...

Opinions
I’ve been advertising the shit out of this blog trying to raise my tumblarity but in doing so I got many mixed opinions on it. Many people loved it and encouraged me to continue it, but others did not. I got different responses from people who didn’t like it, I am fine with you not liking my blog but I will respond to the general statements made: “This is too negative”...

PARENTS
Being a teenager, parents are a huge part of my life and the lives of my friends. I have found that in suburbia and possibly in general there are different types of parents, lets go through them all in detail shall we: OVERBEARING: Usually a control freak and often overprotective Has a large impact on child’s hobbies, college, occupation etc. These parents equates love with absolute...

Independence
What did I learn today? Independence is completely relative. True independence is using the skills and abilities you are given to live your life rather than letting your parents control it. Compared to most suburban private school kids I am completely independent because I do a majority of my family’s grocery shopping and cooking. To certain kids these chores are so regular in their schools...

The Jew quiz...
This quiz is absolutely disgusting…but I don’t want to rant about it I want to prove it: When you see a poor homeless man on the street, what do you do? When you are over at someone’s house and they offer to serve you something you are not interested in or is too spicy you say…. You are on a road trip with a couple people and you are thirsty, what do you do. When...

Everyone's a little bit racist...
Two things made me decide to write about racism today: 1) I was listening to ‘Everyone’s a little bit racist’ :) and 2) I was a bit disturbed by a facebook quiz today. On my homepage I saw that someone had taken a quiz, “How Jewish are you?”, and gotten non-Jewish. Amused, I read the description: “Congratulations! You definitely don’t have any Jewish...

Teachers are our friends...no really...
After a few tardy incidents…I decided to come to school early just to be safe, and often I am the only student in school; so I find a teacher to talk to. At first it would be small talk, about what we are drinking (coffee, tea, etc.) then I might have a real heart to heart with that teacher. Teachers do understand most of the time, for a number of reasons: 1) They have been there before, and...

God, prayer, and all that other stuff...
So this morning the first thing I thought about in school was God. Tonight is the Jewish holiday of Shavout, celebrating receiving the Torah. During prayer services I tend to think about whether or not I believe in God, I can’t help but first think about whether or not I believe in the Torah. The Torah is the basis of traditional Judaism, but why is it so seemingly important to our lives as...

A day in the life of a highschooler
I stole this idea from my older brother who wrote “A day in the life of an intern”, ok lets give this a shot: 6:00AM- Alarm goes off, accidentally instinctively turn the alarm off instead of pressing snooze. Too lazy to actually reset the alarm… 6:57AM- Stumble out of bed cursing myself for not waking up an hour earlier. Stub my toe on the bathroom door, as I trudge off to the...

Intro
Hi my name is Owen, I am a highschool student at a Jewish school and an aspiring engineer. I live in the middle of suburbia of NYC in an apartment (let the irony begin). I have decided to start pointing out the ironies of the educational system (since there are so many). I don’t care much for spelling or grammar, which is obvious in my writing. Haven’t really done this blogging...
